What this family is
A bead labelled black goldstone is man-made aventurine glass under a misleading trade name. Man-made glass, goldstone glass and cat's-eye glass made from optical fibre belong here, and the disclosure — glass, or man-made — has to lead the name. Under the Chinese national standard the basic name is simply glass: Table A.5 lists it that way, and the naming rule for man-made stones expressly exempts glass and plastic from the man-made prefix.
